Terms of Service

Effective: November 1, 2026

These Terms apply to rocketrune.com and the RocketRune app (the "Site"), operated by Alan Ritchie based in Florida ("RocketRune", "we", "us"). By using the Site you agree to them. If you do not agree, please do not use the Site. Our Privacy Policy explains how we handle your information.

1. Who can use RocketRune

2. Launch information

Launch times, schedules and outcomes come from public sources, mainly The Space Devs' Launch Library, and change often. Viewing scores, visibility estimates, Schedule Confidence and trip plans are RocketRune's own calculations from that data and weather forecasts. They are estimates, not promises. Always check official sources before travelling, and follow the instructions of the authorities and venues at a viewing site.

3. RocketRune Pro

Pro is a paid subscription billed through our payment processor, Stripe. The price, how often it renews and how to cancel are shown on the Pro page before you pay, and those details form part of these Terms for your subscription. You can cancel from Manage subscription in your account. There is no free trial. Essential launch schedule information is never limited to Pro.

4. Photos you post

You keep the copyright in photos you post. Posting a photo, or a caption, place words and display name with it, gives RocketRune a non-exclusive, royalty-free licence to store, copy, resize and display it on RocketRune only (the Site and the app, including the Feed, launch pages and share links you make). This licence ends when you delete the photo, except for copies we must keep to meet a legal obligation (see section 8) and for the short time it takes our systems to remove deleted files. We will not use your photo in advertising, email or social media without asking you separately and getting your permission.

Photos from some accounts appear as soon as they are posted; photos from newer accounts are checked by RocketRune first. Your caption can be up to 280 characters. The display name you choose is shown with your photo; your email address never is.

5. Your promises

When you post a photo you promise that:

6. What you must not post or do

Community guidelines

The Feed works when it stays about launches and stays kind. In short:

Breaking these guidelines gets a photo removed. Two upheld removals suspend posting for that account. We may suspend sooner for serious breaches.

7. Our rights, and no duty to monitor

We may refuse, remove or hide any photo, caption or display name, and suspend or end any account's ability to post or use the Site, at any time and for any reason consistent with these Terms, including to comply with the law. We do not promise to publish anything. We do not check everything posted before it appears and have no duty to monitor the Site, but we act on reports and may review anything at any time.

8. Reporting a photo

Every public photo has a Report button that works without an account. The photo is hidden straight away and reviewed by a moderator, who restores or removes it. We keep no address or IP address of the person who reports. You can also email support@rocketrune.com, for example to ask for removal of a photo that shows you.

Where the law requires it, we report apparent child sexual abuse material to the National Center for Missing & Exploited Children and preserve the material and related information as the law requires. Preserved material is kept out of normal deletion for that purpose.

9. Copyright: notice and counter-notice

If you believe a photo on RocketRune infringes your copyright, send a written notice to hello@rocketrune.comwith the subject "Copyright notice". It must include:

  1. your physical or electronic signature;
  2. the copyrighted work you say is infringed;
  3. the photo on RocketRune you say infringes it, with enough detail for us to find it (its address is best);
  4. your name, postal address, telephone number and email address;
  5. a statement that you believe in good faith that the use is not authorised by the copyright owner, its agent or the law;
  6. a statement that the information in the notice is accurate and, under penalty of perjury, that you are the copyright owner or authorised to act for them.

We remove or disable the photo and tell the person who posted it. If they believe it was removed by mistake or misidentification, they can send a counter-notice to the same address containing: their physical or electronic signature; the photo that was removed and where it appeared; a statement under penalty of perjury that they believe in good faith it was removed by mistake or misidentification; and their name, address and telephone number, with a statement that they consent to the jurisdiction of the federal district court for their address (or, outside the United States, any judicial district in which RocketRune may be found) and will accept service of process from the person who sent the notice. We then send the counter-notice to that person and may restore the photo in 10 to 14 business days unless they tell us they have filed a court action.

Repeat infringers. We end the posting rights, and where appropriate the account, of anyone who repeatedly infringes copyright.

10. Ending your use

You can stop using the Site at any time and delete your account from your account privacy page, which deletes your photos too (except anything we must preserve under section 8). We may suspend or end your access if you break these Terms. Sections 4 (for photos not yet deleted), 7, 11, 12 and 13 continue to apply after that.

11. Disclaimers

The Site is provided "as is" and "as available". To the fullest extent the law allows, we make no warranties of any kind, express or implied, including that the Site will be accurate, uninterrupted or free of errors, or fit for a particular purpose. Launches are delayed, moved and cancelled, and weather changes; we are not responsible for travel, tickets or plans made on the basis of the Site. We are not responsible for photos or other content posted by users.

12. Limitation of liability

To the fullest extent the law allows, RocketRune is not liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential or punitive damages, or for lost profits, data or opportunities, arising from your use of the Site. Our total liability for any claim relating to the Site is limited to the amount you paid us in the 12 months before the claim, or US$50 if you paid nothing. Some places do not allow these limits, so they may not all apply to you.

13. Governing law

These Terms are governed by the laws of the State of Florida, United States, without regard to its conflict of laws rules. Any dispute will be decided in the state or federal courts located in Florida, and you and we agree to their jurisdiction, unless the law where you live gives you the right to bring a claim there.

14. Changes

We may update these Terms. The effective date at the top changes when we do. If a change affects posting photos, we ask you to accept the new Terms the next time you post. If you keep using the Site after a change, the updated Terms apply.
